Earlier this week I got the chance to discover how The North Face is taking a different approach to outdoorwear, moving away from a linear business model to a more circular and regenerative approach. Had the amazing opportunity to showcase an exclusive up-cycle piece TNF challenged me to make from their old and unusable stock.
Their new Circular collection has been designed to minimise waste and also be easily disassembled and recycled at the end of its life, with their “Clothes The Loop” program. We also got to hear about plans to embrace more ways to repair, reuse, remake, and recycle their clothes.
It was really great to hear from ‘create & sustain’ and help with their repair and tote bag construction workshop before sitting alongside TNF’s sustainability manager Julian Lings and the Creative director of Create & Sustain Alex Mcintosh to talk about the new collection and all things sustainability in the industry!
